I am thoroughly enjoying supporting the workforce whilst remaining committed to a role in safeguarding.

Prior to changing roles in August 2021, I was an Advanced Social Worker within a children’s safeguarding team.

I have been a qualified Social Worker since 2015. I have been an employee of Hull City Council since 2009 and very much valued the support the council provided to allow me to complete my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work at The University of Hull.

My passion remains in safeguarding and I have become the champion in the assessment of risky adults; this is most seen in families where there is domestic abuse or potential/unassessed sexual risk, although it is not confined to those situations.

Keeping children and young people safe and protected from harm and providing the right support to families at the right time is paramount.

I thrive in coaching others and have been a Practice Educator since 2019.

It is hoped that working within the academy will create and sustain the conditions for outstanding social work practice by providing high-quality support, learning and development for Social Workers at all stages of their career.

I am a product of Hull City Council’s strong commitment to ‘growing our own’ and I am determined to provide the right support and learning environment for others.

I am proud to work for Hull City Council; they are committed to their children and young people, and they are passionate about how they deliver these services to them.
